So I decided to jump into the podcasting arena. I started out with the Podcast Factory from M-Audio and it works pretty good, I guess, but I am thinking about upgrading to something a little more professional. There's a couple options out there that I could see. One being the "Ebay various items and make your own" route and the "All-in-one semi-professional (possibly)" route. Here's the breakdown: Ebay Berringer EuroRack UB1002FX - About $50 M-Audio Duo - About $100 MXL 990 Condenser Mic - About $50 Mic Stand - About $30 All-in-one Alesis Multimix8 USB/Firewire - From $150-$200 MXL 990 Condenser Mic - About $50 Mic Stand - About $30 The ebay route sounds like a good idea, but... for the same price, I have less equipment to lug around. I think I am going to try them both and sell the one that doesn't work as well. Who knows, I may be on to something here. Stay tuned to Whatablogger.com for the results Thanks for tuning in! Until next time... Brent

Update…

the “All-In-One” solution sucks! that alesis unit I bought just blew. I’m not sure if it was just the one I bought or if they all have a high pitched fuzzy sound in the recording. I didn’t feel like finding out so I decided to go with the other solution. I should have a podcast ready soon. (As soon as I think of what to podcast about)

I have recently acquired a Mackie Onyx Sattelite

Pretty cool! Much better than the other tools I was using. Look for a podcast soon. (as soon as I get over the fear of hearing my voice played back)
