Who is Brent?
I am just a regular guy and I just love to get involved in all sorts of different things. I founded and direct Synergy, a design and creative services firm located in Phoenix, AZ.
Synergy started The Creation Shop (TCS), a virtual creative project team. TCS started Delicious Mail, a powerful, custom branded email marketing service.
TCS also organizes PodCamp AZ, a ‘relevant’ media unconference that takes place each year in November.
In 2006, I switched to Mac, so I started a blog called I Bought a Mac so I could blog about stuff I discovered along the way. That didn’t cover everything I was interested in so I started
infrequently blogging random things at a little place I called Whatablogger. And as if that wasn’t enough, since 2006 I have micro-blogged via Twitter, and it has become an all day every day obsession. I also hang out on facebook as well as travel a bit to mingle with other friends. Sometimes I video blog via Viddler, Vimeo and YouTube. I have started
a pretty-darn-infrequent internet show with my friends called iBoughtAMac TV. Yes, I also have an iPhone and I love it!
Now… As if all this doesn’t take up enough of my time, I launch (or help friends launch) fun little web projects such as: Starving Designer, iBAM Book, BigFART, drnkn, twurt, MyHOTD, metweets, Tweet Potato, MyAprilFools, SXSW Cards, Fail Report, Twitter Teams, Date Designer, Tiny Hello and iJustine’s 25th Birthday card.
For clients, I specialize in branding, print collateral, marketing materials, video presentations, system architecture and user interfaces, but mostly I design a lot of websites.
Not too long ago, my wife and I had a little girl, so I built Cadie a site too. My wife, Michelle and I try to blog Cadie’s exploits there but we’re not very good at it. Pictures just seem to be best.
All in all though, I really am just a geek that loves nothing less that to be creative and if I can manage to do all this and have fun at the same time, well… that’s just how life should be in my opinion.
